Thanksgiving Stuffing Recipes

No Thanksgiving day meal is complete without a great stuffing for the holiday. This traditional moist bread stuffing for Thanksgiving is one of our favorites. Plan on 3/4 to one cup stuffing per pound of turkey (if you plan on stuffing the bird) any extra can be baked in a buttered caserole dish about 45 minutes prior to serving time.

This Thanksgiving stuffing recipes should be packed lightly into the bird, as it will expand some during cooking.

Thanksgiving Stuffing

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups diced celery
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup minced parsley
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 18 cups cubed white or french bread
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten

In a large dutch oven or 8 quart casserole, melt the butter over medium heat and saute the onion and celery until tender, about 10 minutes.

add salt, pepper, parsley and poultry seasoning and mix well. Stir in bread cubes and eggs.

Pack Thanksgiving stuffing into turkey cavity loosely if desired just prior to baking.
