De Laurentis Recipe
Here's an Italian
Egg sandwich breakfast recipe from Giada. I love watching her
show on foodnetwork. Giada De Laurrentis has got to be
in my top 3 favorite TV chefs. Her cooking is fresh and young
with a flair for the old world Italian style.
This Italian breakfast recipe
is quick, easy and perfect for a nice brunch.
- 3 tsp olive oil
- 1 large egg
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 garlic clove
- 1tbs grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup warm, chunky Marinara Sauce, drained
- pinch ground black pepper
- 1 slice thick rustic white or italian
bread.
In a small heavy skillet heat 2 teaspoons
of the olive oil over a medium heat. Crack the eggs into the
pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper. cover and cook until the
eggs are firm and the yolk almost set. about 4 minutes.
Meanwhile toast the bread until golden brown.
Brush the bread with the remaining tsp. of olive oil. Rub with
the peeled garlic clove then sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Spoon
the Marinara sauce onto the toast and top with the fried egg.
Serve immediately.
