This recipe for chocolate chip
cookies is from the back of a Pilsbury's flour bag. We love these
chocolate chip cookies and will often make them not only for
our own enjoyment but for PTO nights at school. One of the nice
things about this recipe is that by varying the cooking time
you can get either crisp or chewy chocolate chip cookies. Oh,
and did I mention this cookie recipe is for double chocolate
chip?
Yummmm.
Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 1/4 cups packed light brown
sugar
- 3/4 cup butter flavored crisco
or vegetable shortning
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate
chips
- 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate
chip minis
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees
combine brown sugar, shortning, milk and vanilla in large bowl
and beat until light and fluffy. add egg and beat until well combined.
combine salt, flour and baking soda in a medium bowl and gradually
mix into creamed mixture just until blended. stir in chocolate
chips.
drop by rounded teaspoonfulls onto ungreased cookie sheet about
3 inches apart.
for crisp chocolate chip cookies bake at 375 for 11-13 minutes.
for Chewy chocolate chip cookies bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
cool on sheet for 2 minutes before removing to wire rack to finish
cooling. This cookie recipe yeilds about 3 dozen cookies.
