Bavarian Style Bratwurst Dinner

I love one pot meals and this Bratwurst recipe in the Clasic Bavarian style is one of my favorite dinner recipes. It's rich and hearty, a 30 minute one pot meal your family is sure to love. Smoked Knackwurst makes a great substitute if you can't get the Bavararian Bratwurst.

Bavarian Bratwurst Dinner

• 12 ounces cooked smoked bratwurst
• 1/3 cup water
• 3 tablespoons vinegar
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
•  teaspoon prepared mustard
• 1 16 ounce can whole new potatoes, drained
• 1 16 ounce can sauerkraut, drained
• 1 large apple cored and wedged

Cut the bratwurst diagonally into thirds.

In a large skillet, stir the water, vinegar, brown sugar and mustard together. add the whole new potatoes, sauerkraut, apple wedges and bratwurst. bring to boiling then reduce heat to simmer. cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the apples are tender and  bratwurst is heated through.
