Warm Apple Crisp

I love to make Warm Apple Crisp in the fall when apples are at their peak freshness. It is one of those dishes that goes exceptionally well for breakfast or dessert.

Warm Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients:
Filling:

  • 6 cups thinly sliced and peeled apples
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

Topping:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • Whipped topping for garnish

Combine apples, 1/3 cup sugar, cinnamon, salt and melted butter (filling ingredients list) in bowl. Spread evenly into greased 8 inch square baking dish.

In a separate bowl, combine the 3/4 cups sugar and 1/2 cup flour. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over apple mix and bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes, or until apples are tender.

Serve warm with whipped cream topping.
